“I notice a lot of people, as they/we get older, often saying things like “I used to skate when I was a kid,” or “I haven’t listened to [band] since high school.” Getting older doesn’t mean you have to abandon things that make you happy. Who cares if people associate a particular product or hobby with childhood? I see balding dads at the skatepark shredding on aging knees and I plan to be one of them someday. I still listen to the music that affected me as a young teen and continually find new ways to apply their sentiments to my evolving lifestyle. I have every episode of Recess and Samurai Pizza Cats on my external and they’re just as funny as they were in the mid-90s. Why would you want to rid yourself of things you enjoy for the sake of “being a grown-up”?”

This is a good thing to read on the day I turn even older. Who wants to go skate aimlessly and break bottles with me?
